Gypsy Swing

Juliette’s love-affair with early jazz began age 13, with the start of her nine-year membership in New Zealand’s 1932 Big Band. The valuable experience of working with senior musicians specialising in style of the pre-1945 Swing era,  inspired in Juliette a life-long delight in hearing great rhythmic phrasing.

Since her first national radio broadcast, age 15 (a jazz violin feature for Radio New Zealand with the 1932 Big Band) Juliette played in an assortment of jazz groups in NZ; and the UK, led her own jazz/funk band.

In the US, Juliette has performed and recorded Gypsy Jazz, Swing, Blues and Funk; for albums, radio, movie sound-tracks and music videos; with world-renowned artists in Los Angeles, Chicago and Las Vegas.

Directing Los Angeles-based Gypsy-Jazz duo, Primrose & Robertson: Juliette released the album Gypsy Swing with guitarist, Rowan Robertson. They have performed through-out LA; at times joined by legendary bassist Phil Chen.
