Classical & Orchestral Music

Starting her classical violin training at age four; and from age 11 studying with senior lecturer Mary O’Brien at the University of Auckland: Juliette won prestigious scholarships over the years, to fund her violin studies. She began her degree course aged 16, at the University of Auckland, where she became leader of the university orchestra.

At age 17, Juliette entered the professional orchestral circuit: supporting legends such as Dame Shirley Bassey and Dionne Warwick; and in live televised concerts with New Zealand celebrities including Sir Howard Morison and the Topp Twins. Performing in string quartets for TV & film appearances and recording work (including alternative band, Shihad’s gold-selling, self-titled album): Juliette was also a part-time member of the Auckland Sinfonietta; and a first-call string-section player, recording for film & TV.

Graduating with her Bachelor of Music aged 19, Juliette held orchestral positions in the touring companies of Westside Story and The Phantom Of The Opera (Cameron Mackintosh Productions). She was featured solo, in several nationally-televised performances, before leaving NZ to continue violin studies in the UK, assisted by several scholarships.

Studying with Maciej Rakowski, Juliette completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Violin Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music. A personal highlight for her, was the XXVI Cantiere Internazionale D’Arte in Montipulciano, Italy: where selected members of RNCM Orchestra performed a season of Puccini’s opera Madame Butterfly.

Since engaging in a life of full-time touring; Juliette has between tours, enjoyed string-section work at Capitol Records, Los Angeles; and composing & recording string-sections for various Los Angeles artists and bands. Juliette starred for five years as the soloist for international violin-themed show: STRINGS, also giving regular solo performances during that time.

In 2016, Juliette has incorporated some of her favourite classical music into her new solo show: Tour of Passion.
