Violinist Juliette Primrose has been in hot demand worldwide as a solo artist and collaborative musician; gigging since the age of thirteen. Equally at home starring in full-stage violin/dance-routines in arenas around the globe; or supporting other great artists with improvised accompaniments of exquisite intuition: Juliette’s ability to adapt beautifully and to play with real spirit in an extensive range of musical roles, places her in a unique category.

From an early age, Juliette became fluent in multiple musical languages; working closely with musical luminaries of: swing, gypsy-jazz, rock, Celtic music, Klezmer, heavy metal, pop, funk, R&B, blues, country, bluegrass, Arabic, Reggae, classical and early music. Juliette naturally expresses herself, with loving devotion to both stylistic and personal authenticity.

From improvising gypsy-jazz to sight-reading motets; from opera orchestra work in Italy, to composing & recording alongside members of Guns n’ Roses and Dio, for heavy metal bands in Los Angeles; Juliette’s talent in responding to an exceptional breadth of musical requirements is masterful.

Between 2003 and 2011, Juliette toured the globe as lead fiddle-player for Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance. She starred from 2010 to 2015, as the violin soloist of the international violin-themed show, STRINGS (Willy Bietak Productions). Juliette currently performs her solo show Tour Of Passion exclusively for luxury cruise-lines world-wide. Splitting her time off-tour between London, Los Angeles and New York; Juliette enjoys freelance recording and performing throughout the US and abroad.

Juliette has had the honour to perform as a soloist with artists such as Santana singer, Greg Walker (for live radio); Dio guitarist, Rowan Robertson and legendary bassist, Phil Chen. Since entering the orchestral circuit at age 17, supporting legends such as Dame Shirley Bassey and Dionne Warwick: Juliette also held orchestral positions in the touring companies of Westside Story and The Phantom Of The Opera (Cameron Mackintosh Productions).

Her diverse recording career which also began in her teens with film & TV work and a solo for platinum-selling OMC on the “How Bizarre” album: has ranged from Capitol Records, to Irish punk bands; and from Discovery Channel soundtracks to music videos.

For her exceptional achievements as a violinist; the United States awarded Juliette the prestigious status: “Artist of Extraordinary Ability.

Born in New Zealand, starting the violin at age four and at the University of Auckland from age eleven: Juliette was the recipient of many prestigious scholarships over the years. Already a “working musician” from age 13:   together with Swing-era musicians, she performed by Royal Request at official Tongan State celebrations and gave her first solo jazz violin feature for national radio age 15. Juliette also began performing Celtic music, from traditional to Celtic Rock: on fiddle, mandolin and tin-whistle.

Graduating with a Bachelor of Music at only 19 years of age, she was featured in several nationally-televised performances, before accepting her first international touring contract as the Fiddle Soloist in Gaelforce Dance.

After taking a break from touring to complete her Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Violin Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music in England (while also performing & recording in Britain’s jazz, Klezmer, world-music & Reggae scenes; touring the UK & Europe with Irish rock bands; and kindling her interest in Medieval music at Switzerland’s Schola Cantorum): Juliette’s full-time career as an adaptable and exciting soloist, has continued to take her around the world.

She has performed solo for British royalty; given multiple guest performances and interviews for radio in New Zealand and the United States; and has contributed to a published book about musical talent in children.

Her favourite movie sound-track recording to date: country fiddle solo accompanied by a V8 engine, through a car chase scene with members of the original Dukes Of Hazzard cast and band. Her scariest gig: a nationally-televised solo performance on a bouncing branch, 15 meters up a tree, for a political cause.

Juliette is currently pursuing her passion for medieval music & vielle playing; and working on the development of expressive sounds for an electric violin which has been custom-designed for her.
